Backend Engineer

Role Overview

We’re seeking a Backend Engineer to build the foundation of our AI-powered materials discovery platform. You’ll design and implement scalable ML infrastructure that enables rapid materials discovery and validation, directly accelerating scientific breakthroughs in sustainability.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement scalable ML infrastructure and APIs
• Build data processing pipelines for scientific workflows
• Create robust services for model training and deployment
• Optimize performance of distributed computing systems
• Collaborate with scientists to implement research algorithms
• Develop monitoring and testing frameworks

What You Bring

• Strong Python programming and software architecture skills
• Experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow)
• Knowledge of distributed systems and cloud platforms
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices
• Ability to optimize high-performance computing workflows
• MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field
